Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart to print up some pictures that I had on my nifty little flash drive. I will NEVER do that again. Let me tell you why.
First
of all, there are 4 machines there, three were out of order. Every time
I went there, the picture printing machine was being used, and I didn't
have the time to wait. I suppose I could have come back later, but I'm
not driving 35 miles every day just to see if the photo machine is not
being used. Well, yesterday I just decided to wait for the machine
while this lady printed up over 100 photos. When she was finally
finished, another lady rudely asked if she could just "quickly print up
40 photos." I looked at her and said, "I only have 15 to print, please
wait your turn."
Second, I FINALLY got to use this "really cool" machine. I followed the directions on
screen, plugged in my flash drive and waited....and waited...and
waited...and waited...
Next, when my pictures finally showed up
on screen, I'm going through and choosing the best ones and so on. But
then when they were printed in their nice neat 4 x 6, they were AWFUL!
They were cropped BADLY, the colors were way off, my son's red sweater
looked like a red blob - no detail or shading, my head got chopped off,
my hand got chopped off...they were just REALLY bad, not at all the
picture that were taken. Now these pictures were VERY high resolution-
like professional photos here, okay? Taken with a professional camera
with someone who really should be a photographer. I would have expected
much better quality, especially for this super, terrific, high tech
machine that was going to charge 28 cents per print!
So,
needless to say, I will NEVER be using those photo machines in any
store ever again. And I would suggest that if anyone who wants any of
their precious memories to stay in tact, stay away from those machines.
I
walked around the corner and bought myself a new ink cartridge for my
printer - which is what I should have done to begin with.
Picture Perfect?
Working Hard? Or Hardly Working?
Yeah yeah, I know. I've been neglecting my blog again.
I've been busy. No wait, I've been lazy. No no, I've had other things on my mind.
Really,
I have no excuse except for I just have nothing to say at the moment.
How can I have nothing to say? Actually I have plenty to say, but then
I would end up boring you all to death. lol
Either that or
completely ticking people off because of what I have to say. So perhaps
it is best for me just to keep my mouth shut for a while. lol
Okay, wait... I just had a thought.
Last
night my son and I were watching a National Geographic DVD on the human
footprint. No, stop looking at your foot. It was about how average
people use products and how it affects our planet. It was quite scary
and interesting at the same time. I found myself saying... "I don't
drink 35,000 beer in a life time. I don't drink beer at all." Or "I
read more books than 6 per month! How can someone NOT read?" But the
scary part of it all is, just having this computer to type this rather
strange blog has made a huge impact on the earth. And my cell phone.
And then there is my MP3 player, and my rather old car.... It really
makes one think. So instead of sounding like the "tree hugging hippy"
that I most likely am, I'm not going to tell you what to do to help
save the planet. I'm going to suggest you watch this DVD and take to
heart what it's saying, and then try to make your footprint a little
lighter. The DVD is by National Geographic and it's called Human
Footprint.
Well, that's all I'll say today. I need to wake myself up a little and get ready to do some Yoga.

Family Reunion
Wow, I had not realized how long it has been since I blogged over here. But I have a good excuse! LOL I was preparing for our family reunion. :D
Well the reunion went well and we had lots of fun! I already miss my family, but my mother is planning another trip up here.
I was entertainment for Sunday night too... I performed a belly dance that I had been choreographing for weeks. It was my first performance ever! I was super nervous, but it went well...except for the part when I tripped over a branch and had to catch myself. Thankfully no one noticed. LOL
Well, it's back to the normal routine for us.
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
Brightest Blessings!
Depressing People
I'm sure many people have had this happen...
Something happens
and it happens in a way that you didn't expect, or even like, and it
stressed you out. Well, eventually you accept it, move on with life,
and somehow actually feel pretty good emotionally.
Last week
we had a hearing, and at first it seemed that ruling was unfair and
whatnot. I still think it's unfair, but I have accepted it and will
figure out a way to work around it. So this week, I've been feeling
pretty decent emotionally. Although I am fighting a head cold, I've
felt fairly upbeat and positive.
Great right?
Well, I
start talking to a friend online who is having a hard time too, and I
offer MANY words of encouragement, as I have been in the exact
situation. This person is all about gloom and doom and how depressing
their life is. I have been through that, but you know what? If you stay
in that mode, you end up only making things worse. Get off your butt,
do something that will help relieve the stress, and look for the
positive side of things.
So I tell this friend to go outside
and take a walk. Go to a park and watch nature. Take some deep
cleansing breaths of fresh air. You WILL feel better. Does this person
take my advice? No, but that is their choice. Do they continue to throw
around how bad their life is and how depressed they are? Yes.
I
refuse to let their negativity bring me down. So whenever I have to
deal with someone like this, I just tell myself "Hey, that's their
life, not yours." And that is that.
But I really have to fight the urge to tell them..."SHUT IT! AND MOVE ON WITH LIFE!"
Justice is Blind
"Justice is Blind".
I am sure you have heard that saying... it's a fairly common phrase in the US. Well, I've come to the realization that Justice really is Blind.
Except... I'm not referring to Justice being Blind to skin color, age, or other such discriminations as they like to call them.
No, Justice is Blind even unto herself.
You may recall my blog entitled Judgement Day, and then Read Between the Lines. Well, we finally had this stupid hearing that has been wasting everyone's time for over 9 months. Well... over 11 years if you count when it *really* started. It was postponed because the ex did not provide a full disclosure. The ex likes to hide her assets and claim she is destitute. Anyway, the basic outcome of the hearing is that we are screwed.
The ex broke the law.
The lawyer representing the ex broke the law.
The judge broke the law.
We did not. In fact, we pointed out that they all broke the law. And the worst part is that the judge *encouraged* them to continue to break the laws.
The ex did not get punished.
The lawyer did not get punished.
The judge sure isn't going to be punished.
But we got punished. The judge basically gave them free reign to do whatever they want.
What is wrong with that?? People are punished for obeying the laws?? Lawbreakers are encouraged to continue breaking the laws?? What is the world coming to when the very people who make and uphold laws encourage people to break them? What is the point?!
Justice truly is blind... blind to herself.
